CAREER NOTES:
David Barmasai Tumo won his first three marathons, before competing on the world stage at the IAAF World Championships in Daegu this past fall. His fastest marathon was run in Dubai where he went through the half in 62:46 and finished ahead of his competitors by nearly a minute. His fastest 10K was 28:53 recorded in Appingedam, Netherlands in 2011.

PERSONAL NOTES:
Barmasai says, “I became a runner because I wanted to improve my future.” He is most proud of representing Kenya at the World Championships. At only 23 years of age, Barmasai is on course to become a highly accomplished marathoner. He is married to Winny and the couple has one child, Victor. Barmasai is affiliated with the Global Sports Communication group and is managed by Jos Hermens.
