2019 Boston Marathon Youth Half Race

B.A.A. YOUTH RACES
YOUTH RACES - EXPERIENCE THE FUN AND EXCITEMENT OF RACE DAY!

Beginning at 7:00 a.m., children 14 & under can run, jump & throw at activity stations located on the ballfield by the B.A.A. Half Marathon Start Line.

At 8:00 a.m., the fun will move over to historic White Stadium where participants will have the opportunity to compete in races on the track, finishing at the B.A.A. Half Marathon finish line.

Races will be offered at two distances, a 50-yard dash and a 300m run.
In order to complete the races before the elite athlete finish, participants must be registered and report to the stadium entrance no later than 8:00 AM.

REGISTRATION:
Registration is free and pre-registration is strongly encouraged.
Race day registration will open at 7:00 AM and close promptly at 7:50 a.m. on race morning.

TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY:
THE B.A.A. welcomes participation in the youth races from the youngest runners. However, please be advised that Massachusetts state law prohibits the transport of children under the age of four years old on B.A.A. Half Marathon shuttle busses. We invite those with children under four years old to utilize alternate transportation to Franklin Park. We appreciate your understanding.

7:50 a.m. Registration closes, move to White Stadium
8:00 a.m. Start of the B.A.A. Half Marathon
8:00 - 8:45 a.m. Youth Races
8:45 a.m. Youth & families move to the stands to watch the Finish


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • Check-in and number pick-up will begin at 7:00 a.m. on race morning.
  • Arrive prior to the event to register at the Youth Races Tent adjacent to the ballfield by the start.
  • There is no entry fee for this event.
  • All participants registering on race day will need to have a parent or guardian sign a participation waiver.
  • Events will not be timed, and results will not be recorded.
  • No childcare service will be provided.
  • All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult who will remain with them throughout their participation.

I am the parent or legal guardian of the minor whose name appears above. I know that running is a potentially hazardous activity. I know that the minor should not run unless medically able and properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of the program director relative to the minor's ability to safely complete the risks associated with running in this program including, but not limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including high heat and/or humidity, traffic and the conditions of the road or track, all such risks being known and appreciated by me. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts, on my behalf and the minor's behalf, waive and release the Boston Athletic Association, its Board of Governors, Club Members, officers, directors, agents, employees, sponsors, and their representatives from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of the minor's participation in this event even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver. I further authorize and empower the program director to consent to and authorize any medical care or treatment for the minor that may appear reasonably necessary as a result of emergency, accident or illness of the minor whether occurring before, during or after the event. I grant permission to all of the foregoing to use any photographs, motion pictures, recordings, or any other record of this for any legitimate purpose.
